Island Ugljan

Island is located in Skadar’s islands. The channel Zadar separate island from land and narrow lowland Zdrelac (with bridge) separate island from island Pasman.

The most high point Scah (286) is a part of karstic mountains. Southwest part of coast is steep and it is more difficult to get there. On the northeast coast are located bays, harbors and villages. Ugljan is one of the most thickly populated islands in Adriatic sea. All villages (Ugljan, Lukoran, Sutomscica, Poljana, Preko, Kali and Kukljica) are situated on the northeast coast. First written information about the island are from year 1325, but island was originally settled in neoliths epoch. In some parts are reminds of forts. The present village was built in the middle Ages.
